Where I'll be living...

Bergen-Hohne is a municipality in the state of Lower Saxony in Germany. I will be living in the Barracks on a British Garrison Army Base in Bergen-Hohne about 50 minute drive from Hannover. I will get my own room with my own bathroom and shower. This map just gives you a better idea, geographically, of where I'll be located for my summer in Germany. When I travel on the weekends I will leave from the city of Celle, which is a 30 minute drive South of the base. Celle is the nearest train station.

59 Days and counting!!

I have been counting down the days till my departure to Germany. I will be leaving on the 17th of July out of San Francisco and arriving in Dusseldorf, Germany early in the morning on the 18th. I am so excited! Most of my trip is completely planned out, however I have yet to buy my Rail pass. Those of you that are reading this, I hope you continue to follow along throughout my trip. This will be my only post from now until I arrive in Germany, so make sure you tune back in on July 19th for my first official post!

Here is where I plan on going on my weekend trips while I'm in Germany.

Sep. 30th- Aug. 1st= Munich

Aug. 6th- 8th= Berlin for the Beer Festival

Aug. 13th- 15th= Rothenburg ob der Tauber (One of the most well preserved medieval towns in all of Europe)

Aug. 20th- 22nd= Paris

These are going to be my weekend trips in between work weeks. It should be a nice stress relief!

My sheduled departure date from Germany is on the 28th of August; however, I plan on extending my stay till September 11th to do some more travelling through Switzerland.
